Welcome to the latest exhibition by contemporary artist Kosuke Kawamura, “DEFECTIVE – The Aesthetics of Imperfection”.
This exhibition presents an antithesis to the perfectionist trend in modern society, with the theme of “flaws” and “imperfection” that DEFECTIVE means.
In our pursuit of perfection, we often fear and try to avoid failure and imperfection. However, Kosuke Kawamura is fascinated by the randomness and unpredictable beauty that imperfection brings, and incorporates this essence into his work. His work offers us a new perspective by accepting imperfection and celebrating its beauty.

Born in Hiroshima in 1979, currently living in Tokyo. Collage artist, art director, and graphic designer. In addition to providing graphics to numerous apparel brands, he also designs and directs flyers for live shows and events, DVD and CD jackets, book covers, and advertisements. He has collaborated across many genres, and has held solo and group exhibitions at various museums and galleries both in Japan and abroad. In 2022, he was appointed creative director of UNIQLO's "UT."
